How does an Auction work?

Our system is very simple! You list your item and buyers place bids on it. If a buyer wins your item by meeting or exceeding your price criteria, you then contact the buyer within 48 hours to organize product purchase and transfer.

What is a Starting Bid?

A Starting Bid is the least amount a bidder is allowed to bid in an auction. It is also the lowest amount you will sell your item for. As the name implies, it is where bidding starts. No bidder can place a bid lower than the Starting Bid, and the highest bidder on the item will win the item at auction close.

We suggest that you set your Starting Bid to the least amount you will take for the item and let the bidding start. If you have priced your item fairly, you are likely to receive a higher price than your Starting Bid.

How do I avoid fraud Ads and scams?

Firstly, we want to reinforce that there has never been a case of either of these issues being detected on Gunland. However, it is always good to be on the lookout. Following are a few tips on what to look for:

Payment by Pay Pal for a firearm is against their policy, so if this is asked of you it is probably a scam.

Be cautious of people who are only able to offer very minimal information about the firearm and cannot give more photos.

Be wary of emails that ask sellers for brokerage or agent’s fees.

Keep awareness about sellers who say they are based overseas.

We encourage you to always speak directly to the person with whom you are negotiating transactions.

What should I do if I think an Ad on Gunland is a scam?

Contact us directly with information of the Ad.
